I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice for my little brother...I play the keyboard and he is learning to play the bass...ARe there any books or any advice that you all can give...that can speed up this process..

Best book is Bass guitar for dummies but its one you'd love to rip the front cover off lol, honestly they'd sell more by calling the dummies series [insert here]  for beginners.

...I have a great free basic bass video in the lesson section here under uriahsmusic...also the the sticky post at the top of this forum has a ton of video snipits to get him going (all my bass lines in one place)....and at www.uriahsmusic.com on the video page a have a couple of bass video that you can buy.

I was in your place a couple years ago. If you have a good ear, just listen to the patterns, and you'll be playing within a few months. It's not hard, at all.
