Stick a copy of the song in an envelope and mail it to yourself.
Once you create something it's actually copyrighted, but you have to prove that you were the first to make it. A non-opened envelope, with a date stamp on it, is admissible in court, if someone tried to use what you created; however, you should still proceed with registering your copyright with the library of congress.
