I can read music; It's what I learned while being formally schooled from being in the seventh grade through finishing/graduating college.  

I used that skill throughout that timerame, but I continue to "keep the knife sharpened" by sight reading music pieces.

i can read music as well however whena piece is presented to me, i am hardly ever required to play it verbatim. usually they want me to use it as a guide and only nail the major parts like accents or rests or maybe a fill...
