Hi, saints . . . got a request. Lately there have been so many requests for encouragement for people learning to play that I suggest we put some very short testimonies of frustrating seasons and how God gave us vistory over these times . . . all of them relevant to playing music. This may help several people who think that if you "have it" you just came to the organ and music started popping out. I'll start off . . .
I started playing by traditional lessons when I was twelve. For some reason, I just couldn't seem to pick up playing by ear, and all the well-meaning saints who stood by me and clapped to a beat, singing in my ear, and saying "Come on, come on" just didn't help at all. I hid my piano-playing ability for over fifteen years, because people think that you should just come up and start hitting keys . . . and if you need lessons or practice, you aren't anointed. I started taking guitar lessons and learning about the rich sounds of seconds and fourths. Suddenly, the keyboard started making sense to me. I'm no accomplished musician by any means, but I know what I know, and I'm growing every day. Enjoy where you are on the way to where you are going, saints.
Now, your turn to help someone else through your testimony . . . let's give the enemy who wants to discourage people a punch right in the grill! Be blessed . . .
