Sibelius for Education?
« on: July 12, 2005, 11:27:41 PM »
I'm a music teacher and was wondering (before we purchase it) if Sibelius 4 is a good program. Does anyone have any experience with it?  If so do you like it?  If not do you have a suggestion.  It would be used by mainly teacher and grade 11/12 students for compositions.  What was your experiences with it?
Thanks,
TAMA

When I am in the recording studios playing commercials or movies, I notice that the music sheets are almost always written on Sibelius.  The guys using the program really rave about how good it is.  You can download a demo version.  It will do everything that the paid-for version does, except 'save'.  It really is a writing program, though.
I believe you would be able to get the educational discount for it.  I would love to own Sibelius - I've got finale  (darn)

hope that helps!

Sibelius is good. So is Finale. Some say that Finale has a steep learning curve. You can also download a free version of finale at their website.
