Key of Eb

Eb / BbEbFG

Give me some ideas

Thanks SammyT!

Gotta question - how could I keep going up the keyboard (or can I) without starting over an octave higher?  After hitting the last chord, EbG/ CFBb, are there any connecting chords/progressions that would take me to the G/FBbEb in the next octave and so forth? (I hope I'm making sense :? )

By the way, I love your style of playing.  I'm a COGIC musician (not by birth, unfortunately) and I am learning by trial and error the COGIC style.  You have a few videos I plan to get to coach me along!  God bless and keep on keepn' on!  :)

Yessir, you can quite simply....play inversions of these chords. Also, you could start with your version of the progression, then use SammyT's. Try it.

Pray this helps,
Jonathan

You can try both of these:

G-B \ F-Bb-Eb
Ab-C \ Ab-C-Eb

...use that pattern all the way up, just transpose it for the rest of the notes.

....or you can do....

G-B \ F-Bb-D

...and just walk it up on all the notes of your bass. This one is a little jazzier.

There are several ways you can go. I play chords to support a melody so you can invert these chord  like:

G B / F Bb Eb...Ab Db / F# B E
F B / Eb Ab Db...G C / F Bb Eb

or

G C / F Bb Eb....E Bb Eb / Ab Db F# Bb
Eb A D / G C F A...D Ab Db / F# B E Ab
Eb G C / F Bb D G

Now you have to have a good reach to hit these note. I can hit them with no problem or pain because I practice them all the time.
