SO in short I know how to do a walking bass line as in here:
Glory Glory Hallelujah

(NOTE:THIS IS OLD AND GOD HAS BLESSED ME TO IMPROVE SINCE THEN)

But my question: How would i play my left hand if a bass guitarist was present? I want to be versatile and not pigeon holed into playing the walking bass alone. Any other ideas to add to the left hand of this song?

Thanks and God Bless

Well, do you want to keep the song in it's current format or do you want to update the whole feel of it and make it more modern?

Cause what I would do is play the right and left hand chords in a way so that you are playing the music for the song and not just playing the song.
I'll see if I can post a video example later.

And playing that bass line while having a bass player is only going to clash.  First thing you should do is learn your number system for which main bass note you should be on at which time and play that left hand chord. That would be the easiest solution
