To keep it simple, you mainly need something to record with and then something to record onto. Example: recording with a keyboard onto a hard disk recorder. So you gonna do singing you need mics, etc. Man, there is sooo much I could cover...
Anyway you need something to record on. So you need a computer with editing software or a hard disk recorder. Also keep in mind how many tracks you will want to simultaneously record and make your purchase accordingly. You might need a mixer, and then all the cables to make this thing run.
But once you figure out exactly what you want to do or what you want to record, its easier to say what you need.

A Good microphone and mic accessories (windscreen, a good cable, and a mic stand.)

A Good microphone preamp (This could be included in the audio interface if you choose to use a computer.)

Digital Audio Workstation like Pro Tools. With Pro Tools you get the software, bundled instrument and effects plug-ins, preamps, and the A-D converter. (The digitdesign MBox is a great choice.)

Some good monitors. The M-Audio BX series, and The KRK Rokit series are great for the money. They come in 5, 6, and 8" sizes.

and of course a computer.

A midi interface would be great if your going to be hooking up your keyboard.
