Musicman_00 ,
It's good to hear someone who has the desire to improve as a musian for God.
First I would say be incouraged and continue to strive to reach that which God has calle you to do with perfection and understanding.
Next realize that the study of theory takes years for some and some get it right away.
The easiest way to learn if you are having problems understanding is to first go back to the begining and start again.
This means scales , note names , chord names, interval numbers , and correct fingerings.
This will be the building block that you will need for a good foundation that all the rest of the theory will sit on.
Start small don't try to learn things in every key to start, that is what theory is in a simple deff what you do in one key you can repoduce in any other because a move from a I to a V will always have the same amount of space inbetween or intervals.
But you must understand the scales first!!
Remember that if you already play well by ear the use of theory will only enhance that and allow you to reach new places in you music as well as help others teach others learn songs faster play with other musicians on the fly anticipate movments and progressions. there are many other benifits to learning and using theory and you must know this already or you wouldin't have made this post.
I just wanted to incourage you to continue to strive and offer any help you need in gaining more understanding.
just as T-block has said you can email me if you have specific questions or get stuck on somthing sometimes another point of view will make it clear and the little light goes on.
T-block does a great job at explaining theory as well as others here so don't get tired of asking questions.
and be specific about your need at the time
