Yo I'm back with some more flavor for your critique...

I REALLY WANT YOUR INPUT/ADVICE so don't hesitate to post whatever you want (even to my earlier posts!).

So check it out: http://www.learngospelmusic.com/users/T_Keys/concertjam.wma

On this song we used drums, bass, keyboard and MPC.

WELL I HAVE COUPLE OF QUESTIONS.  WAS THIS DONE FOR A CD OR WERE YOU JUST MESSIN' AROUND? LIVE OR STUDIO? IS IT MIXED OR IS IT A ROUGH DRAFT? IS IT SUPPOSED TO HAVE LIVE AUDIENCE EFFECTS IN IT?

I'M NOT TRYING TO DOWN YOU AT ALL, IN ANY WAY WITH MY QUESTIONS. I JUST WANT TO KNOW, B/C I HAVE SOME TIPS FOR YA'.

I dont know if we would put it on cd... we were above playin around but not up to cd quality (in my opinion). There has been talk of possibly re-doing this track...

This was studio. It was mixed on a hd recorder (I prefer mixing on the computer) I just haven't downloaded the tracks to my pc yet. HD mixing is kinda sorry.

HOLLA BACK

This is a song that we did back in May when we were still getting our act together. Check out some of our more recent stuff (June, August) in my earlier posts (CHECK IT OUT #1, CHECK IT OUT #2) cause i'm interested in what you gotta say about that stuff...

PRODUCTION WISE:
WELL IF YOU ALL WERE GOING FOR THE LIVE SETTING. YOU ALL COULD TRY USING REVERB AND LITE DELAY. AND ALSO AUDIENCE CLAPS WOULD BE GREAT FOR THIS SINCE YOU SAID IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A POSED LIVE. BECAUSE IT ALMOST SOUND LIKE THE AUDIENCE WAS JUST SITTING THERE STARING AT YOU ALL WHILE YA'LL PLAYED. AND DURING THE FAKE BREAKS THATS REALLY WHEN THE REVERB & DELAY COMES INTO PLACE. AND ALSO THE AUDIENCE CLAPS WOULD COME INTO PLACE THERE TOO.

MUSICALLY:
WELL ALL I CAN SAY FOR THE MUSICALLY PART IS TO CLEAN UP THE BREAKS B/C IN PARTS OF THE SONG HAVE OF THE BAND WAS DOING THE BREAK, AND THE PIANO WAS STILL PLAYING.
OTHER THAN THAT THE MUSIC IS NUTZ. I RECORDED IT IN MY COMPUTER ON PROTOOLZ. IT STILL DOESN'T SOUND BETTER THAN HOW YA'LL DID IT.

Production-wise, the clip sounds great to me. However, I have to warn you that I know a “big fat zero” about production. I just know that I need to be learning from you.

About the music, I have a few comments. There didn’t seem to be any verses in the song. It felt like the song was in a continuous bridge or a continuous chorus. Also, the piano became very repetitive at around 2:30, repeating the same riff over and over.

Like I said though, I need to be looking to you for production advice because I would not know how to make a piece like that.

OK, but don't be too hard on them. It's just one man's opinion. There might be a verse in there somewhere. If so, the verse is unobvious or played only once.
