I have a yahmaha so8 88 key board syn.  i was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to set it up as far as the velocity and touch to give it a better sound

I dont know how to do any of this, but try www.soundonsound.com and www.emusician.com. Both these sites have tons of artics of music synthesis, sequencing, editing, midi, etc.
