you probably can trade yours in at a local music store in the Upper Marlboro area.  I traded mines in at Bill's Music store on Frederick Rd in Catonsville

I live down the street from Bill's music house. I feel a negative vibe in there (don't want to go into details) but since it's down the street it's so conveneint

I hear (read) ya, Mike.  Bill's is more convenient for me too (beween home & work) I didn't particularly like their customer service when I was last there.  I'm glad a Bro. from church, who plays guitar, told me about Guitar Center, which is where i'll be trying out next.  There's one in Glen Burnie.

Yea but I live and work  on the exact same road that Bill's on. All three place are in the 1.5 mile area.  Guitar cCenter seems a lil crowded to me, there store is hard to walk through.

Thanks for the heads up on that cause I've never been there before.  I don't like a crowded store.

Don't give up on Guitar Center yet, the one is Glen Burnie is newer and is much bigger. I know you will like the customer service much better than Bill's.

Now I can agree with this. I made the sales person know up front that I was not buying today, and he still helped me like I was related to the person.

As for the Glen Burnie one I'll check it out soon I'll be in the market with in the next few month for an active four string or and electric upright, so I'll go there first to check them out. But the one in Joppatown or off of Joppatown rd. I'll probably never go back to that one.

You were so right about the Glen Burnie Guitar Center.  A big difference in customer service then Bill's.  Thank God that 1 is bigger then the Joppa Rd one, seeing I don't live far from it.   :)

Yeah I know, Joppa Road is really cramped. They just need to expand a little.
I just went to Glen Burnie yesterday looking for an swr amp but they no longer carry them. So then I went to Bill's.....they don't even aknowledge your presense when you walk in. I have to hunt a sales person down everytime. Don't know why I keep going there!

So what kind of bass did you buy??

You can check the stuff you want at the other music store for quailty and sound then buy the same instrument offline. Or go online and see if the bigger music store carry it then make the drive. Has anyone ordered from americanmusicalsupply.com? You can order you stuff get it and make payments. I'm considering trying this.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.

i dont know how anyone here feels about used gear, i have done alot of business with this site here. it is just a lot of bass players buying and selling gear online, even trading. easy to use you can operate on your own terms.

I got a pretty good deal on a trade in at bills once, but that HIGHLY depends on what sales person you deal with, because another time the deal they offerd was lame and I got a much better deal at Guitar Center.
Bill's Music (in my opinion) has gotten a bit wierd over the last few years, but I still go there for some things, now I mostly go to Guitar Center and Dundalk Music wich is a small place but the customer service there is really good and they go all out to make sure you're happy. And BTW Has anybody heer ben to Guitar Exchange across from Bill's lately? I was in there about a year ago and the guy there had a Stanly Clarke bass there and wanted ten grand for it.... I asked him how did he end up with that particular bass and he said that Stanley Clarke's sister brought it in. I have NO idea how true it is... but any way has anyone els seen it?
