Playing at a funeral
« on: May 09, 2006, 01:35:47 PM »
A 15 yr old is playing for the first time at a funeral this Saturday.  She is not familiar with the older congregational songs.  She plays mostly contemporary music.  What contemporary songs are being played at funerals?

First have you even talked to the family to see what songs they would like played or sung? Most musicians do that because most family do have their special requests. As far as songs go (contemporary I guess), use the search and type in funeral, there's some suggestions for funeral songs that have been posted in the past.

Yes, the family is leaving it up to the musician and the choir.  Thanks.
