Stuck and I don't know where to go from here
« on: September 24, 2006, 06:47:30 PM »
Hello everyone.  I am a two year newbie.  I am stuck on very basic playing almost one finger melodies.  What I need to know is how to incorporate chords and  bass and rhytm into a song.  It almost feels as though I am fighting against GOD and he is saying no you are not an organist.  I am trying to help my church out since we don't have a musician at the moment.  I've been replaced but am now back on the organ because the other guy left.  The enemy has magnified my novice playing because before he came I was learning to play better.  I need your prayers to bombard heaven for me that the Lord will send clear direction in His will.  In the meanwhile, until GOD speaks I am going to continue to read these posts and practice everday.  If anyone has any advice that may help me please don't hesitate to reply to my post.  Pray for me that I fail not GOD.

Have you looked at my posts on progressions?  If not, then you really need to check them out because they give you all the information you need.  Why don't you post some of what you play, then we can help you to get the desired sound you are looking for.

Thanks everyone.  Just after I wrote the post I went surfing through the old pages (its a lot there) and I found that progressions part 2 and immediately printed it and am studying it every chance I get.  It explains the whole thing that I've been missing.  It is wonderful.  I feel encouraged now yall.

I will definitely be praying for you.  I was in the same position about ten years ago.  I would recommed using the chord progressions as well, but if possible, try to hook up with someone that plays too.  It won't hurt to ask- we have not because we ask not.
