Tye, the band, and the singers were hott from the rip! They had a catholic school theme for the night...there was a chalkboard with 'victory' written on it...the band and singers were all rocking burgendy and grey catholic school uniforms....Spank was killin' so hard on the set that in the first few minutes of the show, the drum shield fell down ...they left it down for the rest of the night...There seemed to be a few problems with the sound technicians..they couldn't get a level set to save their lives..Tye spoke on that and said it seems like there are specific demons set against them to mess up the sound/mix..
I arrived there after wasting like 45 minutes driving around Philly using the 'google' directions...never again! I'll stick to mapquest...I finally got around to asking someone if they knew where New Deliverance church was...turns out he was on his way to the concert as well so we followed him..(u could tell he was a fan by the sweater and bow tie) lol...
Once me and my crew got there, we looked and saw a line with approximately 800 people in it...it was about 5:45 and the concert was scheduled to start @ 7..well at about 6:30 they started to open the doors and the true colors of the 'aints' excuse me 'saints' started to show lol...People were str8 up cutting in front of people who had been waiting in line for 3 ,4 and 5 hours..these were people who had driven miles on top of miles and patiently waited to enjoy the show. What I couldn't understand was the lack of manpower and security....it seemed like it was a free for all....I guess they never estimated that it would be 6,000 people there....
I got in a lil after and found a seat that wasn't too far back (tight seat for viewing the band)..Turns out that over a thousand people had to be turned away...whenever something is free, you know black people are gonna be down for it lol ...(all races for that matter) I was really surprised at the lack of respect that some of the people had for one another..blatantly cuttin in line when the know they had to 'start from scratch'....I was ready to throw some holy ghost hands for a lil min lol
Once the show got started it was a sense of anticipation in the atmosphere..they showed a preview of some of the shows tye and GA did dating back to when they were teenagers and entered the mcdonalds praisefest...they been hott since the jump.
I really enjoyed all of the songs, but it was something about those worship songs....it seems like they were needed to hush the crowd...people were being str8 up disrepectful...walking around and talking while the RECORDING was goin on..the best part of the nite was when they sang 'everything'...it was a surreal moment...the whole crowd joined in and the moment was like something you'd see on the day of pentecost..
As for the other songs they did: Terry and Tye did a duet together ..that song was off the hook...they did a few songs that weren't new to me because I've pretty much heard everything but ya'll should really love these songs once they hit...Bless the lord(weather report feel to it), It will be Alright, Everyday with Jesus, I still have joy (foot stompin hand clappin
chuch' song) VICTORY...whew....they laid it all out on that song...steps were crazy and the vocals...the band acted a str8 nut on that song..Then the crowd called for No Way...they hit that and the crowdddd went wilddd!! We were all in there singin' and doin the steps with them...In the end he called some of us on stage to dance with them to a go-go track (Victory) the people who frequent his message board..
All in all, I can say that the 9 hour drive was well worth it and although some of the people got to actin' a fool, I still think everyone still had a great time...I can't wait for the cd/dvd to drop...THERE WILL BE ALOT MORE SONGS than what we heard at the recording...Tye said he didn't get to do half of what he had planned..so for all who think this will be a slow worship type cd, think again! He's still bringin that FIYA while being able to worship God at the same time...
Victory -hitting the shelves in the near future
