HAMMOND ORGAN
« on: February 05, 2004, 12:38:58 PM »
PRAISE THE LORD SAINTS, I PRAY ALL IS WELL. I JUST WANTED TO SHARE MY GOOD NEWS WITH THIS GREAT FAMILY .  YESTERDAY I WAS BLESS WITH A M-3 HAMMOND ORGAN FOR A DIRT CHEAP PRICE. NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THE CHURCH JUST WANTED TO SELL IT BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE A MUSICIAN. NOW I BOUGHT IT FOR MY HOUSE TO BEGIN LEARNING THE ORGAN. IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME HOW I SHOULD START OR WHAT TO DO FIRST TO BEGIN  MY LEARNING PROCESS FASTER . IT WOULD BE HELPFUL . THANKS IN ADVANCE

I know it sounds stupid, but just start playing and you'll know what to do next.  Make sure you practice utilizing the pedals, the drawbars and tremelo and chorale (if you have a rotary cabinet).

It seems that most starting organists have a problem with running the pedals.  I would say practice that, but you have the M-3 and they dont have full pedals, so you cant practice that.  I would say play around with the drawbars and go online and find some nice registrations for drawbars, and go from there.
