It's a process and it takes time. It won't happen overnight but I'll try to explain it on here. Okay, practice singles, doubles and triplets with your right foot. Practice with a metronome or one of your favorite Gospel CD's.
Make sure you are sitting comfortable on the drum throne and that you are balanced and relaxed. Make sure that you are wearing appropriate foot wear for playing. Make sure that your pedal is at a comfortable setting. (Usually Medium Spring tension to Med. Tight - some people use it a little under Med. Tension) If you are a heel up or down player, erase that out of your mind. Everything you do heel up, you must do heel down. It'll develop your ability to play the bass drum dynamically.
You can also play a Samba Pattern with your right foot. Just make sure you stay comfortable and when you feel the burn in your leg, STOP and Relax. DO NOT over practice. The point is not to hurt yourself but to develop your muscles so that they won't get tired so that you can play at fast tempos.(Endurance) Your Doubles and Triples will come though. You must be pacient.
