Are we really in the position to say he is praising God or self? Since the first time I heard Tonex, I knew he was "different."

The ultimate goal in ministry is to receive what the 'minister' is issuing and use it as a tool to change or convert a certain lifestyle to the one that is pleasing to GOD.  Now, for those who don't like Tonex, then use whatever avenue that's out there to receive your blessing.

I consider myself contemporary & my wife is pretty much traditional so just imagine the conversations we have pertaining to gospel music.  However, songs that are being brought forth now, we both are having the same likes/dislikes about them, and that's just our individual faiths growing and maturing.

Now, I'm going to be honest here.  I want to be entertained.  I don't see a problem wanting to be entertained.  If I PAY for ANYTHING, then I'm going to want it to do what I want it to do for my satisfaction.  I listen to artists, musicians, etc. when they are ministering to an audience.  Sometimes a word is for me, sometimes it's not.  No arist knows YOUR situation, so they have to be as broad as possible to reach the majority of the audience.  But, in the meantime, that bass better be thumping, the drummer better be tight, the piano better have tight chords, and the singer better have tight runs, because let's be serious:  you can claim 'I listen to singing only for ministry' all day long, but a tone-deaf minister gets no respect.  NONE.

For the Tonex fans that watched Bobby Jones yesterday...could you REALLY understand what he was saying? Do you feel the anointing was all over him and the music?

Well my mother and I was getting ready for service and we were both shocked! Like for a moment I didn't even have anything to say. To be honest I don't what he was thinking. I feel like this there is a way you can get attention from people and pull people to Christ but he went toooo extreme. Plus when he started throwing water on people, that was it. He lost me from his past two cds until his performance. For me it's like he did a 360 and some from his old ways, changed and then return back from his old ways and some. I don't know sometimes I think performers, especially Gospel artists should be more mindful of who exactly they are trying to promote. And I think he can get his messgae across in a matter of decency and in order. It was just uncalled for personally...
It was not by coincidence it was already pre-destined!
