this for people who believe that musicans should compensated !!!!
for a drummer there are so many factors that weigh that cost of our service to a minstry; to start off at my church they gave me $10 plus provided me with what ever i needed no question
my gear:
pdp cx 5pc set
dw 9k hardware
k customs (several)
new heads every four sundays
thats my situation i still have my own set with everything
Some drummers live 30min (one way) from there church.
Some drummers have to lug in a set every sunday.
Some drummers are required to be at the church for diffrent services 4 or more times a week.
Some drummers live under 10min from there church
Some are required to bring sticks to church
Some are asked to travel the pastor just like the organist
But then you have to let the church know your financial situation ie: I personally know a cat who drives 90mins one way and brings his own hardware and gets 150 a week and he's a full time college student that what he agree upon he and has to honor that if not exceed his churches expectations.
OH YEAH WHEN THAT SEVEN REVIVAL COMES THROUGH!!! :? YOU HAVE TO BITE BULLET AND BE THERE ALL SERVICE!!!
Now this is just my opinion!!!
if you ask for $250 a week you need to be worth at least $350 these are example figures.
For all of those who think i'm out of pocket go ask your organist what he would charge if he had to lug his b3, a100, c2 or even a simulator and a speaker to every service  b/c you can't put rollers on a drumset or at least i hope you wouldn't do that! and a 5pc drumset in cases won't fit in a civic shoot them suckers won't fit in my 740i at least not with my wife and 2yr old son in the car!!!!!!
