I have been playing Guitar for about 8 months now. Last night at church our organist (who is plaing in the house band at the Super Bowl), couldn't make it. So, that left me and a drummer  ! I don't know if you could say that I held it down :? , but I did LGM very proud 8) . Mostly because of the tips and licks that I learned from this sight, the videos I biught from Uriah and practice - lots and lots of practice. While I recognize that the guitar is a solo instrument (one player), I know that no man is an island. We are all here to learn and grow with and from each other. If you can't tell, I'm pretty proud of the little I could do to help the service along. :P

Well you can learn to play like Charlie Hunter and then show your organist who's really the boss  !

Check out the Man with the 8-String Guitar:

Congratulations Trackman,

That's wonderful to hear...I only been playing for a few years, and I remember my first time playing without any help, no, not even a drummer...Only I was playing an instrument, and the congregation was clapping off beat, no rhythm at ‘all to help me.  During that time, I was only a few months in the game, but thanks to God, most Christians are forgiven people and I made it out alive (I did play decent).

Today, I mostly play with a drummer only.  Thanks to LGM posts and instructional books, CD's, and DVD's.  I can handle almost any congregational song and most contemporary songs.  However, I have a long way to go before I can compare myself to Uriah for example, or the greats, like Wes Montgomery.

Be encourage to keep’ on keeping on, and don't forget it is all about lifting Jesus up, that mankind may be saved and born again.
