My 1st lady had me rollin' when she sang this!  This kid sitting behind me was like, "What does she mean what's a matta wit' Jesus?  I thought he was alright"

We were no good for the rest of the service.

EXACTLY!!  I can possibly see someone singing that line once, but after we have established that nothing is wrong with Jesus, why are we still asking the question?  lol :D  :D

I once heard this COGIC song, it said something like "you can not join in, you must be born in the Church Of God In Christ."  What does the song mean by that.  My cousin is COGIC and she told my it means what it says.  I don't get it.

COGIC peeps, help a sister out.

My grandmama used to sing this one.  I just thought it was an affirmation about the goodness of God.  There is no fault in Him, He is alright.  (What's the matter with Jesus or can you find anything wrong with Him; NO you can't)

  We are NOT cliquish!  LOL!!

Naw I think it just means you gotta be born again, otherwise joining means nothing.  That's how I take it, anyway.  Don't hear that song much any more.

I like the "hand-clappin', foot-stompin', tongue-talkin, pentecostal, Church of God in Christ" song a little better.

I like the song Coolin' Water from grandma's well.  I  thought it  was just a little parable.  Like when you get baptised this is an outward affirmation that you have become a new creature, cleansed by the blood of Jesus.     Think how refreshed you would feel physically if you had been very thirsty, in need of water, and you came up on "grandma's well".  After your drink of water you'd be ready to go on ;D ;D

On the Jesus will never say no, do you think maybe they could be talking about that

"you can CALL  Him in the MORNING,  CALL Him late at NIGHT oh Jesus will never say no"

Maybe they were saying He will always ANSWER no matter what time you call on Him,  He will

LISTEN.  He will never say no as far as LISTENING  to His children.  That morning or night He will

never TURN  a  DEAF EAR to you.

Wow I guess all these songs kind of grew on me because my granmama used to sing these at church all the time.  May the Lord God bless you real good,  He woke me up this morning and started me on my way may the Lord God bless you real good

I take that to mean May the Lord God bless you real good (Just like he blesses me.  Just this morning He woke me up,and started me on my way
He  allowed me to see another day, (May the Lord God bless you real good)
May you receive the same blessings He's  giving daily me ;D

hosanna means ...oh save! Or, it can be an exclamation of adoration.  Or it can mean something similar to "all hail the King".  But hosanna is definitely NOT a name of Jesus no matter what any song writer tries to get the church to believe....Laura, I'm with you on this one. That song gets on my last nerve.

I don't think they are saying it to call Jesus Hosanna, but instead in adoration like the people did back in the day. When Jesus rode into town, the people cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. (Matt. 21:9).

"I know the truth" by Shirley Ceasar f/ Tonex. This song is a shameful mess. I'm wondering "are you sure you know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, or do you think you do". It makes no sense. Someone please call Shirley and Anthony and tell them its not about them, but the kingdom of God.

I hardly ever listen to the radio but, heard this one the other day.
The title is "Thank You Devil for Bringning it up"

Thank the Devil?  :o ::)   ?/?

It should be "thanks for nothing"

My Humble Opiniion             No Charge

I believe this song was intended to teach about the  unselfish love of Christ.  The child writes the mother a note naming everything he'd done that day  and putting a charge  after each item.  The mother answers the note  by telling the child all she'd done for him.   Each time saying "no charge."

Jesus did all He did for us and there was no charge.  We deserved  death and disgrace yet He died on the cross for us while we were yet sinners and gave His very life and there was "no charge".

I think the song ends  something like "when you add it all up the cost of real love is no charge."
Or along those lines.
