bass runs
« on: February 07, 2006, 12:06:15 AM »
i recently posted the a question about the bass runs in Long as i've got King Jesus. Thanks for the reply. i listened to the clip carefully, but i'm new at playing the bass and i've never taken lessons. i just kinda pray about it and God is blessing me a lot. i still have a lot of questions about how to form bass runs to improve my playing. if anyone knows of something that will help me, i would greatly appreciate it!! thanks and God bless!!!!

arppegiated chords.

I also think of it this was. I take a scale and play something like.

1-3-5
1-2-5
1-4-5
1-5-4
1-5-4-3
1-8-6-5

something like that. they sound good.

Try to listen at the beat and make up your own runs.
like this easy simple
--------------
------------14--
-------14-------
1111------------1111--  simple all shout music can be played on bass like this, but in the right key. Im about 40 year behind in my bass playing.
Lock the drummer bass and build off that.

I hope this will help you, some I can do a clip if you need me to.

MikeGee, do you actually think like this, in numbers?  Or just occasionally?

I've become very flexible i think in all ways,

the easist way for me to rely a -possible groove- to another is in number for.

Were we discussing shout runs or just runs in general?

Maybe because in this bass site we always talk about how we playing but we rarely try to show it.  Maybe...
