i went to a clinic last year to see new orleans phenom stanton moore play. he is amazing with his second line palying and his knowledge of where it all came from. he told me that this guy, baby doods, was the guy that invented the hi hats. but ack in the day, they were called a low boy and was only about a foot off the ground....
