Singing tug-o-war
« on: February 11, 2006, 06:01:04 PM »
Hey, has anyone ever joined a church, choir, band, etc and other members thought you had a "Gifted" voice and felt you should be the lead singer (or join the lead singer)?  Then have you ever felt that you were suddenly having a singing "tug-o-war" with the other lead singer because they were jealous, or they felt you should start from the bottom 'cause you were new, or that since they were older than you, you should be back-up for them?   :?

I see that happen all the time.  I do believe that even if someone is a talented singer, they just shouldn't jump into being the lead singer (just so you can really tell if that person is going to really be appart of the church), but after a period of time, the most sincere and annointed singers should be singing the lead.

I have to disagree with you 4Hisglory, If God has called someone to be a lead singer, they need to walk in the calling.
Praise Jesus!

oh yeah...If is person is really saved, sanctified, h.g. filled, and fire baptized, they wouldn't be jealous when God adds gifts to the ministry.
Praise Jesus!

I believe that what happens most of the time is that a very talented singer joins the group. Then, GOD test the character of that singers pride by forcing him/her to submit to the lesser  singers leadership. I firmly believe that LEADERSHIP is 99% presence of GOD and 1% talent. For instance is you put someone on the stage that can't sing a lick, but, has been fasting and praying and is in the presence of GOD than the anointing will fall. On the other hand if you have a great singer that's messin' around on thier mate, or some other sin, but can sing. You'll have a great show... but no movement of GOD.
