You know, there's alot of good teaching for us beginners in here. I'm going through all the "lessons" and compiling everything in a book. Anyone else doing anything similar?

Yea all the songs that I can play are put on a cheat sheet in a way that I can read by sight.
I now have about 60 songs in my book. I can play anyone of them easily as long as I am looking at it.
I love my book.

I have been telling myself to write the songs down in a way that I can read and play them when needed. Example, when the organist plays a song from days gone by. Sometimes it will take me a forth of the song to remember how to play it. I believe I will stop putting off what I need to do and start doing it now.

I'm new to the bass, I started last summer, so the easiest way for me is reading out of my book. Plus I take lesson from a music teacher but also been playing in church for over 20 years. SO that helps
