I had that happen to me, it was kinda wierd too. I use to get picked on by this band that I use to play for with this choir up here in Milwaukee because I wasnt as good as the bass player they replaced, plus I was the youngest person in the band. I was about 15 everybody else in the band was in their early to mid 20's. They use to pick on me out of jealousy too because I was already giggin on a national level at the time too. But inspite of me giggin nationally, I still wasnt as good as the old bass player which was just a local cat from the area. So they use to always say stuff like "man you killed, but your still not so and so". Being the nice guy I was, I use to take the beating and just go home and practice. They use to even call me to the church actin like we had band rehearsal but in all actuality they were feeding me to the lions. Ill get there and the other bass player was there, and they would make us play against eachother. It was madd crazy. But I kept doing my thing and never let them bring me down. NOW! Im not cocky or anything, but I just accept what God allows, and Im just gonna keep it real. There is no comparison to me and this other cat now, I mean he still can play, but ummmmmm.......... God has really anointed me to go to a new level. Its crazy because I still see these cats and they would dare not bring up the past, lol. But like I said, I totally can understand how you felt.
