HOW MANY OF YOU USE THE SETTINGS
« on: March 10, 2006, 09:50:15 PM »
OTHER THAN THE DRAWBARS AND LESLIE SWITCH HOW MANY OF YOU ACTUALLY USE THE VIBRATO, CHORUS, PERCUSSION, PRESETS.

DO YOU ALL JUST SET THE VIBRATO/CHORUS TO A SPECIFIC SETTING (like v1, v2, v3/ c1, c2, c3) AND LEAVE IF THERE. OR DO YOU CHANGE IT THROUGH OUT THE DURATION OF THE SONG/SERVICE/FOREVER!!!

I KNOW I USE ALL OF THE FUNCTIONS ON THE ORGAN. I USE THE PERCUSSION WHEN I TRY TO IMATATE JAZZ MUSIC AND DURING SOLOS/RUNS

I USUALLY CHANGE THE VIBRATO/CHORUS THROUGH OUT THE DURATION OF A SONG. I CHANGE IT ACCORDING TO MY DRAWBAR SETTINGS.

I ALSO USE THE PRESETS ON THE ORGAN. BUT VERY SELDOMLY. ONLY WHEN IM CHAGING TO A DIFFERENT DRAWBAR SCENE.

Dude, love  ya but we ain't DEAF! Lose those caps man!!! :) Now 4 your question. I usually change drawbars slightly depending on the song we are doing. I leave the organ on C3, with vibrato switches OFF.

I use the percussion sometimes, only during shout music or praise songs do I sometimes use the vibrato and chorus, for talk music the vibrato and chorus are off. this gives the organ a smooth sound.

I use everything except the vibrato.....I think that the vibrato from the Leslie is so much better than the vibrato from the Hammond itself.  The Hammond's vibrato sounds too harsh, methodical and mechanical to me.

P.S. Catron, please check your PM........thanks.......

The caps man, the caps!   ;D ;D ;D ;D  Caps>>>>ASDFASDFA  Lower Case>asdfasdfa

I go between C1 and C3, if I'm playing a real bluesy tune, C1 or none at all if it's more modern...C1 or C3 w/Leslie on slow is a pretty cool sound.

If I am not mistaken, but Hammondman could offer more clarification, old school gospel organists would have used more V settings, but it appears to be moving away from that nowadays.

Thanks for letting me hang with you guys!

I use v3, percussion, and and reverb ( a little).

I recontly had reverb added to my B3 to assist with the percussion. However, I p[lay my services with a warm sound. I use the lower B3 preset with the 16', 8', add 4'

You can do a search for drawbar settings.

There is a great post on the settings for every sound.

I used to leave my setting on C3 until I went to a church and heard how mellow c1 could be.

so I go back and forth between them

to tell the truth I am just learning the Drawbars thanks to the recent post

so I dont know if  i would even know how or what to change it to

to be honest i dont even know the difference between vibrato and chorus
To be or not to be that is the question you anwer when you pray practice and read your word

I leave the setting on C3 with the vibrato either on or off. If I want to get a hazy sound i cut the vibrato off. If I want things to get real choppy. I put the setting on C1 with the vibrato on. The organ's vibrato get's very easy to hear then.
