Each bass is going to sound different with each set of strings.  Some DR (Marcus Miller) strings may sound good on your bass but may not sound good on my bass.  Even if we had the same bass only because each bass is not made the same.  You have different variables that affect the soud of the bass during its production. ie. moister, aging of the wood, woods all together, and other factors.  So my suggestion to you is try out different brands and see what fits your taste better.  For me, I'm using D'addarios Nickel Wound EXL 165-6 strings for my 6 string because this is the only brand that my local dealer has in stock.  But I'm going to order a set of DR's next and then try a set of Ken Smiths and maybe a set of Fodera Strings to see which I like best.
Keep God first and he'll do the rest!!!

I agree with DD each bass has it's own unique sound, first off, do you like the sound that you bass is putting out, if not what sound are you looking for, after you answer those questions then you gauge what strings will fit your personel playing style, for instance: I like bright highs so I used the DR Highbeams. I have tried just about every other string but this the best for me so far. So you might have to go through a couple of sets of strings to find the one that fits you, peace!
