practicing methods???

I am a beginner at learning the keyboard. I try to sit down and practice but sometimes i don't know what to practice. I try scales and then chords but is there a structure or a better way to learn that can help me a great deal???  ???

I practice all my major scales, then my basic chords in every key, then take a song or progressions and practice it in every key.

basic chords are the major and minor right? and then the aug. and the dim?
and the progressions are like the ii V I .. i think i gotcha! i read up on some of the progressions here at lgm although i would have to learn the theory behind them and really study to understand it.
