JOHNNY RABB...FASTEST DRUMMER...
« on: March 29, 2006, 09:42:24 AM »
There was a topic awhile back about the fastest drummer...Sabe mentioned this guy that he holds the record...so here he is:   "Clinician Johnny Rabb earned the distinction of "World's Fastest Drummer," as recognized by the Guinness World Records, by playing 1,071 single strokes in 60 seconds."

Check out these clips. I really enjoyed them...hope you do to!

Extreme preciseness.

That's what stood out to me the most. That, by itself, takes a lot of dedication.

Mike Mangini has the fastest hands with sticks, the fastest hands ithout sticks and the fastest feet (double pedal). He is an instructor at Berklee.

An as Div says that is puer dedication and discipline and skill.

And that was a really joke about Dave Weckl... sorry but he is not that fast Billy Cobham, Dennis Chambers, Virgil Donati, Thomas Lang yeah even Vinnie though none of these guys would probably ever enter the WFD.

Aye Sabe,

Didn't Thomas Lang hold the record for a while or was it Mangini who had it, then lost, then got it back?

My bad Mike Mangini  set an endurance record when he played 13,222 Singles with his feet in 15 Minutes!

Mike's Current WFD Records: Matched Grip Singles - 1,247 in 60 seconds, Bare Hands Singles - 1,138 in 60 seconds,
Traditional Grip Singles - 1,126 in 60 seconds, Endurance 13,222 Feet Singles in 15 Minutes Double Pedal

Tim Waterson: Current WFD Records: Double Pedal Single Strokes - 1,030 in 60 seconds, Double Pedal Double Strokes - 1,407 in 60 seconds, Single Pedal (One Foot) 650 strokes in 60 seconds.

Johnny is fast and he is the ony one that has done it for the GUiness Book of World Record Judges.... Though obviously his record has been broken several times over.

I saw Johnny in a clinic last year and he is awesome. Most folk on this forum however would not appreciate his choosen style which is a shame.

The way he incorporates the Roland SDPD-S sampler pad blew me away. Gots to have one.

What kinda cymbal is he using on his snare???? That was just too good of a sound. Very dedicated and innovative. Man, I would love to go to half of the clinics that you go to.

God Bless.
