Praise the Lord everyone,
    Just a question.  What do you guys think about doing an even trade - Triton Le76 for a fully expanded Roland xp-50.  I have the Triton and someone is offering me this trade.  They also have a Motif 7.  The board I pray that God will bless me with someday. ;).

HHmmm...I never played a Xp-50 (do they make those anymore?? )  You don't like the LE???

Yes I like the Triton, but to me it takes a whole lot of "tweeking" in order to get the sound I want.  Especially to get a good sounding piano or organ sound.  But I really just wanted to see if the person was trying to get over :D ???

DO NOT TRADE.......................ON THE OTHER HAND, IF YOU CAN GET THAT MOTIF! WOW, THATS LIKE A "BENTLEY", EVEN 'STEVIE WONDER' ONLY ENDORCES THE MOTIF! (A BENTLEY IS A ROLLES ROYCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET IT MARINNATE!

1stLady, I feel your pain - I own a Triton too, for my sins.

However, the XP-50 is a 61-key board, are you going to be ok with that? Also, note that the monetary value of the Le76 is almost double the XP-50 with no expansions. That doesn't sound like a good deal to me. You'd probably be better off selling your board on eBay to some techno fan  ;).

I say keep suffering and stick with what you've got until Yamaha time  ;D.

I wouldn't trade, if I had to settle for a Roland it would be the xp-80 and not the 50 and I think the LE are nice.

Many are the sorrows that plague users of the LE, but I'd rather be sorrowful that lift up my eyes while playing the 50!lol. I share your pain towards the LE, but even though it has it' set backs (i would love for someone to tell me the best piano sound on it!) it is still leaps and bounds over the 50.

Thanks everyone,  I'm not going to trade.  I do like the triton even though ie does not have a "good" sounding piano. >:(  I'll try to keep "tweeking" until I can create one.  If any one has any suggestions on which sounds to tweek and how I would greatly appreciate it.

Here's a few tips, let me know if they help
  • in general, EPs are very muddy, play with the Low-Pass Filter cut-off frequency until the top end of the sound comes through
  • try and download/install the samples/pcgs at http://www.tritonhaven.com/downloads/samples.html (if you don't know how to do this have a look at the manual or shout and I'll try and help)
  • play with the Intensity parameter to brighten up the sound
