Any comments on double bass on vid 3?

I think it would be best to learn both. I want to be sure both feet are equal. Eventually I will be able to do with my feet what I do with my hands. I sort of disagree with you there. I don't think I am getting ahead of myself.

Now...to comment to this...I have one word HILARIOUS.  I know bigblack is gonna come wit something harsh, but mcalexan was exactly right...I was suprised myself!  But of course as the conversation grew he came back with his "usual senses"  I guess u spoke too soon mcalexan!

Gurl I went to both of them.  I'm not a female drummer...i mean i play around a lil, but I don't play on a regular basis, I play the keys...and a lil organ, but newazy u were very bold to post what u do and that will only help u to get better.  You can receive the best criticism which will help you grow more efficiently!

Anyway, who said to take the double bass out of the picture? Keep it in, learn and grow using both feet. Don't leave them out of your practice drills/exercises.

Just keep practicing them! Also start buying drum teaching DVD's. Get a good teacher, even if you only go once a month.
I use to copy the fills off the tape (hahaha 1984) and try to do them at Church in service. It wouldnt always work out, but thats how you learn. I had a Pastor who let me learn tho. Just do it!

I'm going to lessons this summer. Just to improve double bass, timing, and to learn some new fills. I'll probably go about twice a month. I am wondering if it is a waste of money to go to one of theses places that give lessons because a lot of the time they fool around and take their time since you are the one paying for it. I want to learn as much as I can in one session!

Study the pros DVDs. Make a list of things you want to learn. Ask the instructor to address those things. If they can elborate/expand on those things that is a plus. THis way you will at least learn what you feel you need help on. NOw if it turns out that youare not really ready for those things don't be disillusioned. Build yourself up to them.

What are some good DVD's?

I have Thomas lang's creative control, plus a couple more of his. And I have Joe Franco's double bass drumming, which has helped a lot. I've learned so much about playing double bass with that dvd.
