Remo clear Ambassadors/Diplomats.

The diplomats will give you a bit more of an open sound from your toms. you actually are probably fine with the stock heads on your kit. i have the stock heads on mine and they sound fine.

Hey Dude, everyone here is more than happy to help. Just don't need two threads for one topic tho...

Basically go for a 1ply reso. Gives good tone when matched with a 2ply & holds the resonance well. No need for muffling cause if your mic'd it won't be heard & even if you weren't mic'd - the rest of the band would cover your so called excess "humming".

But regardless of all that... & most importantly.... If you take the time to learn how to tune your drums properly & tune them well then your kit will look after you.
Assuming you don't know all of this already...

I know you want Pinstripes... but check out the new EC2 heads from EVANS.
I share drum duties at church with another drummer friend of mine and he's a hardcore remo guy. We switch turns everytime we change heads meaning one time he'll get REMOS next time we change heads I'll get whatever I wanna try out.Well this time I tried those EC2's and we love them... They're so much livlier than the Pinstripes and Hydraulics. They actually sing. I think you should do EC2's with any single ply bottom head. We have ambassador clears under our EC2's right now.

Ok EVANS SHOW ME THE $$$$!!!!

...man "Ubilddrums".  You just let me down bro.  A true disappointment. :(  Those EC2's are deader than Lazarous.  Oh well, everyone has a different taste.
