In the end its your personal decision on the pedal that works for your playing and budget.  I personally play the DW 9000 double.  Its the pedal of my choice.

I personally think that the dw 5000 is more durable but that's my opinion.  I broke the 9000 and I am not that big.  But like everybody said, it's up to you.  Go in the store and try them out.

Definitely try em out for yourself first if possible. What works and feels best for me or somebody else may not necessarily be what's best for you. Me I play the DW 9000 and absolutely love it although it took a lil whlie to get use to because it is so smooth. When I first started using it I honestly struggled a bit because it was so smooth almost too smooth but now that I got used to it I absolutely love it. My second choice would be the Tama Iron Cobra power glide. But again definitely go out and try out as many as possible to be able to make the best decision.

I play an ole skool Yamaha double with straps (converted from a double chain pedal) - pre Flying Dragon model like Weckl is using on his Evolution series of vids.

I am planning on getting a new pedal soon... Hear is my list

PDP B.O.A (double) *** may get the single first because the doubles haven't shipped yet ***
Pearl Eliminator w/strap ** red cam**(double)
Flying Dragon double-chain (w/strap conversion) (double)
Tama - Limited Edition Iron Cobra (chrome) (double)
Tama - Iron Cobra  (double)
Sonor - Giant Step (double)

Pearl Eliminator Single - Chain (Not a belt fan).
Rocking the blue cam right now but really feeling the black as well.

May shift to the double pedal but depends on finances & next set of drum purchases is new cymbal setup first so might be a while.

1. PEARL
2. SONOR
3. YAMAHA

Currently play a PEARL Eliminator 2000 Belt Drive with ReD CAM. !!!!!!!!! WOW! I get such an amazing action with this pedal. I never really cared for belts, until I played this pedal. the belt gives such a smooth motion!

You gotta try it.

Plus, its one of the cheaper priced pedals for the level that it is at!

God Bless.
