[b]Organ Beginner...HELP!![/b]

Hello...

I'm very very new to the organ. I'm in the process of making the transition from drums to organ. Now, I know what you all are saying..."How can you make the transition from drums to organ?" Well..I've been playing the drums over 10 years, but now my church is in need of a organist. We have a multitude of young drummers, but no organist. We do have a keyboardist, but he like I, do not know their way around the organ. I'm in NEED of ANY info you all can give. From drawbars settings to scales to chords....Any and all suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks and most of all

well it looks like you know what you got to do........now the question is, do you want to do what is necessary to make it happen? anyhoo, if you are, then you have came to the right place.........you said you are a beginner! good!!!!!! then thats where you will start....go to the theory section, and lets get started.......look for anything that says beginner.......anything that says scales......please whatever you do, do not come on here for just chords, and a bunch of "phat" stuff.........this will lead you in the wrong direction.......got me?........for the sake of TIME.......... who has got it to waste?????? so im praying for your success as a new musician and welcome aboard....buckle your seatbealt...its gonna be a ride you'll never forget!!!!!!!!. I was getting caught up looking & studying all those "phat" chords, thinking I could learn a couple of them and cut some corners. But, quite honestly, they didn't make any sense to me. I tried playing them yesterday and it sounded horrible. I definitely have to crawl before I walk. "Patience is a virtue... I desire."

You have learned what so many others seem to fail at....playing the keyboard is not to get cheap thrills from all the onlookers at church, but a service to Christ our Saviour..."PHAT" should be bared from the english language :lol:  Learn the  basics, then the other things "will be added unto you" :lol:

Should I practice with the pedal now...or incorporate it in my practices later (later meaning: after I build a stronger knowledge of the keyboard, finger positions, scales...etc)

Which should you start learning first?  Should you learn pedals along with everything else?

I know you are trying to learn chords but do you know the basics of the organ such as how to turn it on, the different buttons or even drawbar settings?
