Help...I want to create MIDIs
« on: May 08, 2006, 08:55:44 PM »
I have a Yamaha DGX-205 (I'm going to upgrade one day :D) I have a USB and the Yamaha Accessory CDROM to install the driver. According to the instructions, it tells me how I can get midi files from the computer to transfer them to my keyboard, but i want to make midis from my keyboard and upload them to my computer. Am I missing something here....help...I'm very frustrated. Do I need any other type of software or something? I'm usually smart enough to figure these things out...but i'm stumped :-\ Thanks in advance.

Usually the usb drivers on the boards are now midi out ports so you can use it with sequencer programs without getting a USB-MIDI cord...Try the program called Anvil Studio (haven't used it in years but a sweet program) and you can make midi files from that. If youget that program (it's free) and need help, let me know.

Seeing as you have usb on the keyboard Im not sure how it looks but if you can use a usb jump drive connected to your keyboard. Just save the midi files on your jump drive and download them to your computer. Then upload them to the site. If not you will have to use usb midi cables.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.
