One thing that I have noticed when going to stores (WalMart & Target) is that there Gospel music selection has constantly been dwindiling. Has anyone else seen this. I could go into WalMart and find pretty much any/all the newest Gospel CD's/DVD's. But now the selection has pretty much shrunk to only a couple of rows.
I would frequent our local christian book store "Bereans" but I'd rather spend 9-13 dollars at WalMart or Target than spend 20 dollars at Berean.
I live in a big city in the states so I find that stores like Walmart, Target, Circuit City, and Best Buy don't have a big gospel section at all. They never really did, but what they did have is shrinking. So I'll go for the latest album, because they'll have it in stock (sometimes...when the New Direction album "Rain" came out, Circuit City only had one in stock, and I was there when the store opened

), but if it's older than two years, it's harder to find in a store, I have had to resort to special ordering it or go online and purchase a gospel cd at many times.
As far as Christian stores go, I try to support them but they carry less gospel music than the secular retail stores (more CCM vs gospel) and cost much more. So I really don't know why the state of purchasing gospel music is the way it is.
