Why Did Jesus...
« on: May 20, 2006, 06:35:15 PM »
Hello all.

The other day a friend of mine asked me this question and I really couldn't find the right words to explain it to him, so I'm here hoping some of you all may be able to help me. He's partly christian, so we should help him out any way we can. Here's the question he asked....

------------------------------

Ok I want someone who is really religious to argue this or give me a debate and some depth into this.

Basically why did jesus come to spread the message of god so late, I mean he didnt come close to the dawn of man, neither was his message to moses or any of his messengers.

So what happens to all the people PRE- GOD? They were never given a chance to see miracles or learn the story of christ or hear from god. And why must we now take our ancestors word for their accounts of jesus and god.

Why does one generation get to see the miracles while the other billion after can only take the word of one generation, and if so isnt it like the game telephone? The message gets jumbled up through the way? I mean Jesus has never written a book, but "supposed" witnesses have.

What happens to a person to a person born in the jungle and never hears about christianity? Does he go to hell for not knowing about it and not converting?

Thanks, and your help is appreciated.

Would I be out of line in asking a question to go along with this one?
I have no intention of hyjacking your thread.

This one has bugged me for a long time too:
What about the aboriginals, in Australia, New Guinea, New Zealand, remote Polynesian islands, thousands of miles away from the "known world"? Did the Gospel reach them right after Jesus? What about all the countless generatiions of Native Americans, Inuits, Moche, Maya, who lived in the Americas for thousands of years before America was "discovered" and the Gospel finally reached here.

The Bible does say that they are without excuse.
Here's one verse:

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
......Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. Psalm 33:2-3

I have learned, in my experience on LGM, to check the profile before I answer; but your age was not listed so I'm not going to attempt to go through the whole 9.

but I'd like to say first is that it is a GOOD thing to minister to your partly Christian friend.

Although I'm not religious at all, but just LOVIN' Jesus;  I would encourage you NOT to debate or argue the Word of God.

The Word stands on it's own merit, it's  different interpretations and perceptions which lead us into various directions.

But what never ceases to amaze me is when it comes to things of GOD, we have to know EXACTLY how HE works in order to follow him.

If you asked your friend how their microwave worked, they probably couldn't tell you.  They just know it works

If you asked them how their car, or cell phone or printer or fax OR ANYTHING Else works, they probably couldn't tell you.  They just know it works

And sure, there are answers to all the above questions, but my point is, we don't Go to the manufacturer of any of these products and services and demand an explanation of how they work.

We read the manual.... Apply it.... And it works!

Just like God! ;)

Blessings

Who can know the mind and will of God? No one can. God has his own ways and his own time. Jesus could not come before Mary his
Mother was born. Scripture tells us "A virgin shall conceive and bring forth a son and thou shall call  his name Immanuel which being
interpreted is God with us" The Bible did not say who that virgin would be at that time. But when the fulness of time came God sent forth his Son made of a woman and made under the law. His death would be by crucifixcion in which only the Romans used during their rule over the Jews. And finally read Job 9:35 there is light in God's word. Be Blessed!

Good Answer praize.......................

pre-God ? there is no such thing...............He has been here since the beginiing.

If ya want to see a miracle.....................Look in the mirror, the fact that you are alive & still breathing is a miracle.

Every individual on the planet will have an opportunity to hear the word of God (missionaries are ordained just for this purpose) before His return

Jesus has never been late.........................

My suggestion to you & your friend (you are either a christian or not a christian) is to read the Word of God to obtain answers to your question and then go to your Pastor for explainations & understanding.

Partial Chritian: Exactly what is that?
