I don't have the capability of providing video examples yet but I can give a little insight on the style.
I'm from N. Carolina and I've been playing in a quartet for 4 yrs. This playing style is very beautiful to me. A quartet player uses lots of triads and 2 note chords. They slide 2 note 3rds, 4ths,and 5ths in Major tonalities. A lot of the music uses major key chord progressions and chord progressions using dominant chords.( I call them the going to church chords) ;D. Anyway! You can use major pentatonic scales for the songs with major chords and minor pentatonic and the blues scale with the dominant chords. I use these alot especially in the vamps. The chord voicings used are the ones that gives your pinky freedom to do hammer-on embellishments while holding chords - like hendrix did. This playing style is old but parts of it is played in many genres of music. I learned many quartet licks from listning to hendrix's "Little Wing" and" Castles made of Sand". Beautiful fills! This style is also a very busy playing style. You will chord at times, always do fills in between, slides ect... Listening quartet music will help you learn common phrases and licks. Groups like the Canton Spirituals, Keith Wonderboy Johnson, The Williams Brothers.. I have yet found any text that helped me with this style. Uriah has some great licks aswell . There are similarities in country an western guitar playing too! I hope this helps.     God Bless!

You're welcome man. Now note that this is only some of the basics. The style has a tradional drive to it with the bass and drums in the pocket. We call it being locked. So try your best to make sure while playing rythym playing doesn't conflict with the drive. It should help push it!  There is also Plucky riffs that are commonly used. You will know what I'm talking about when you hear it. All they're doing is playing notes out of the major pentatonic  and blues scales. Know your dominant chords and how to use them 7ths, 9ths,11ths,and 13ths. I got some cool riffs from Prince's 70 & 80's music as well. It tought me how to use my dominant chords.
I'm always glad to help.
