That's false according to snopes.com:

"According to the story, White took his own life after becoming obsessed with the Steve Urkel character he'd played on Family Matters and growing dispondent, presumably over the cancellation of the show. It was all a send-up, though. Although Jaleel has been out of the public eye for a while, he is alive and well, most recently having appeared in an episode of TV's 24. No news outlets, including the Associated Press, the purported source of the article, have published accounts about Jaleel White's death."

Not true this is an urban legend. This is an old email it went around back n 2004 also. Bu then again maybe now it is true. If you received the picture of him in the email and he has on a brown tan colored leather jacket. That i not him. I just checked it again this weekend when some friends came into town. Again that is if it is the same story from a few tears ago.

He wasn't in any recent episode of '24'. Believe you me, first of all there aren't that many of us brothers on the show; AND I used to watch 'family matters'; I'd remember Jaleel White.

I was sent a link from E! from my mom, and it says that he shot himself in the head on Memorial Day.... With a note attatched to him saying 'Did I do that'.... Ionno, that aint cool... if it is a rumor or not.... That is a horrible thing to say. But if it is true, whats going on, first it was Romeo from The Steve Harvey show, then Hakeem from Moesha... This is just too much.

I knew about Romeo, but I believe that was a car accident, or accidental shooting while in a car... I can't remember.. but I didn't know about Hakeem?????
