He was cool.  He looked like he was thinking about where he'd rather be....  Thats not cool at ANY time behind the kit, ESPECIALLY at church!!

Yeah but, during P&W I be wishing sometimes that I was at Hardees eating a pork chop biscuit... But that hardly ever happens... lol...

I'm not sure that he's fully "White" but regardless... that boy got the gospel feel. Infact I was really feeling their keys man. Brother got skills.

Nah he's hispanic..Mexican, Apostolic... whatever's politically correct to label him at this time...but yeah not white...

Yo I've never seen anything like that before. It was like a latino COGIC church, I'm going to visit that church one day.

Yeah come on now, the DUDE AINT WHITE! Thats kinda easy to tell by looking at him. He can play, but he was just out of line on that recording.

And trust me, this Lighty Whitey (me) has more groove than words that there can be used to describe it!!!!

God Bless.

Dude did you notice he was whhhhhhhiiiiiiiittttteeeee!!! That's why I posted. Not because of his great drumming skills or whether praise and worship was groovin or whether his heart posture and attitude was right. ITS BECAUSE HE DOESN'T SOUND WHITE! I mean E-R posts vids of great white drummers that are incredible but none of them sound gospel like this white kid. I thought it was cool that he had alittle black groooooooooooove.

Over annalitical to the fullist people.

Question...What is a black groove?? What is sounding white? Kingdom Music People...get it through your heads and down into your heart....

its SONshine, not SUNshine...because Gods SON does shine in my life.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I am from New Mexico, Family is from SoCal to be Specific, my Mom grew up in Compton, my Grandma was the piano player in a Black Church there. I learned how to play the drums with her. So my background in playing is straight up Gospel. Real Gospel. Old Gospel.

God BLess.

Yo I've never seen anything like that before. It was like a latino COGIC church, I'm going to visit that church one day.
:-\ I wouldn't say COGIC. . .Baptist, maybe. But not COGIC. He was okay. I'm not taking anything away from him. But if we're drummers, why is it okay to say, "He's okay for a white guy?" I've seen better and I've seen worse. Black, white, and other. I wasn't really impressed. I'm not downing him, I just didn't feel anything when he played. If he had been Black, I would say the same thing. Truth is, I never expect a white guy or a Mexican/Hispanic/Latino (I know all of these have different meanings and may be talking about different people, but I'm trying to include everyone and at the same time let people know that I'm not trying clump different nationalities into one) to bring the flavor that Blacks bring to music. That's why Black drummers get the jobs we get. Because we have a different feel. Don't be mad at me. . .talk to God. He gave it to us!! ;D

Anyway, I'm always surprised when I hear a non-Black play like a Black person. But this guy didn't sound Black to me. Whether that's a good thing or not is not my point. I just didn't feel his playing. And I agree with everyone who said the twirls were out of order. His facial expression (or lack thereof) was also out of order. His face and appearance is why I didn't like going to Baptist churches when I was growing up. All of the drummers looked so dead. Nowadays it's a different story, denominations are blurred and musicians are coming up all over the place. But I got a flashback of sitting at the choir concert at the local Greater First Missionary Baptist Church of the Trinity Hill Southern Baptist Church when I was eight years old.  :'(

That's my 20 cents. Peace.
It's God's way. . . or Hell to pay

Yeah, Kirk and Mary Mary had came to my job to sign autographs... We have had Bow Wow, India Arie, Floetry, Heather Headley and The Temptations this year so far... I loved it when Kirk came in, he had so much energy... I actually picked him up and he rode on my back.... LOL.... He is a lot of fun.

Ok...I don't know about anyone else but I'm stuck on the Hispanic Choir singing Hezzie, and they sounded good too. The only thing about that Hezzie song is that the band didn't sound like a unit. They sounded like musicians playing at the same time. As far as his playing goes, besides a few rough ends, he was okay. With the stick twirling, I don't think he was trying to be showie, but he looks absolutely bored out of his mind so he seems to be passing time. I say, "At all times, give like it's your last time." I actually think the Hezzie song was kinda slow.

*For the battooooooo is not yaaaaaaaaaaaws...*

had to throw that in there. :D

Why is he referred to as a little kid in the thread title? He looks like a grown man. ;)
