I thought Hope got married again...that's why she went off the show.

She may have; but she could have gotten a divorce. Or, Vic Jr, is actin' up and she wants Victor to take care of him for a minute.

Y'all know Victor's been married 'bout twelve times on this show.  And three of them were to Nikki.  So he probably got kids chillin' all over the place.

I tried to follow the connect-the-family-dots thing that 2Kub wrote.  I couldn't imagine how frustrating it would be to put a family tree together for this show.

it's the same actor, but they're giving him a shady past by saying that he isn't who he says he is.

Naw, she isn't coming back physically...Hope is coming back in a dream of Victor's well that is what I read.

Also, my mom thinks...we be thinking some far fetched stuff...Michael's and Phylls' baby will somehow get switched at birth. I know it is crazy...but it is Y&R.

CORRECTION: Y&R has been number one in the ratings since the late 80's. Before that General Hospital was the reigning soap from the 70s til the late 80s, when it went to number 2. Also, ABC soaps were always consistently at the top of the ratings throughout the 70s and 80s and continue to be near the top today (after Y&R and B&B).

According to CBS.com, Y&R just celebrated being the #1 show for 900 straight weeks.  Let's do some math.

Today's year: 2006
Weeks @#1: 900
Week/Year conversion: 900/52 = 17.3

Subtraction: 2006 - 17 = 1989

You are correct.  Thank you  ;D

How's come everybody that first arrives on Y&R is some kind of misfit, thug, or heathen, and then a year or two later, that same person is like some top executive at one of the companies on the show?  They've suddenly learned to read, cleaned the crust from the corners of their eyes, started chewing with their mouths closed, and learned how to dress.  Ex. Drucilla, Nikki

He started out as the poolboy/gardner for John Abbott.  He married Tracey and had Colleen. Next thing you know, he was at Jabot.  Then, he went to Tracey's sister...imagine that.  He has also been married to wealthy and crazy women.  So basically, he's in the category as Doubles described.

I'd like to make a disclaimer.  I have only seen these shows by virtue of having to share the television with other family members.  They have to sit through it when I watch sports, so I sometimes have to sit through a soap or two.  I don't know all the details of some stories but I know enough about some characters in a couple of shows.

Now I did watch Generations when it was out because it was mostly black people and Vivica Fox had an 8th grader's nose wide open at the time.

I have a friend on one of the soaps, so support her if possible by ...the show gave her a bad story line so you don't see much of her as you used to, but she's still on there, That soap doesn't builld great storylines and lasting ones at that for it's black characters sad to say... (might recognize her from the Secret Deodorant commercial)

No hating here.....although the PT director for the college choir doesn't schedule any classes between 1230 and 4, takes a nap around 12 to prepare, and watches all the soaps (but Passions) and records the ones he's not currently viewing

Too much¿¿

That is so cool.  My cousin, Kim Hawthorne, use to be on All My Children.  She played Belinda, Noah's sister.  When she left, I stopped watching it.   :-\
