Saints, do you actually think that they praised GOD in dance back in the Bible days like we praise GOD in dance now? A while back, who would have sat you down?
The old saints also would give some of us lapclothes for the length of some of the sister's dresses, tell some of the sisters to take off their makeup and their earrings, tell them to wear heels no longer than "so high," tell us that it was a sin to play basketball or football and you better not play even if it did get you a scholarship to college . . . the list goes on. I love the old saints, too . . . they were sincere and strong, but they were not right about everything.
And if everyone in the charismatic movement praises GOD through dance the same way . . . ways that are acceptable to everyone in the church . . . . then could not someone possibly say that they are not imitating each other? How much "practice" did it take before those people with "acceptable dances" got their moves down pat?
Oops, yes I said it.
And do we actually think that we can tell the sincerity of someone's walk with GOD through their dance? Come on, folks. If they have the proper steps right, could drug dealers and pimps and hookers dance in the chruches where everyone would "sit this young man down?" Maybe the young man was expressing joy the only way he knew how. he sure looked sincere by the expression on his face.
There was another person who didn't like wild dancing . . . her name was Michal, David's wife . . . . and she rebuked him for the way he danced and . . . well, you know the story.

3 whole pages and you show up

You made one point in your post that I believe needs to addressed. You talked about the "old saints". Surprisingly, as I've gone back over some of the responses, most people who've commented on this are relatively "young saints" 25 years of age and youner. Which in a way is scary.
This is evident because people still call the act of dancing before the Lord "Shouting" which is not the biblical connotation of the word. This is what happens when we don't elevate our Christian experience and limit ourselves to hearing what the "old saints" have to say, which you already stated, they weren't right about everything.
Shouting is done with your.......mouth! It is AUDIBLE, i.e. SHABACH - Yeah a lot of people sing the song, but do they know what it means?

A TOWDAH PRAISE, TEHILLAH PRAISE, HALAL PRAISE, etc.
I know folk have used the term for "SHOUT" to describe a dance for years. Some PERSON coined that phrase and it stuck .... BUT IT AIN'T RIGHT. And it saddens me when I read that someone thinks that God would strike this young man down for his style or Exhortation!
Just because you or your bishop do not recognize it as "Holy, Reverant or Acceptable in YOUR SIGHT" has nothing to do with God receiving his praise. While a lot of people, I'm sure, would be pointing, nudging and judging...just remember, who's judging you!
Someone said Thank God he wasn't at my church...... I'm thanking God he wasn't at your church too! 2Cor 3:17 says
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of God is, there is liberty.
