July 27 until Aug 1 I'm going to Kinston, NC for a Family Reunion. If any NC Bass Players are near let me know.
Maybe we could hookup or I'll attend your church service.

If you are in Wilson, on the 30th of July, Forbes Tabernacle of Wilson NC is having Union.  the service will start Sat 29th of July until 30th of July.  If you can't find the way, e-mail me for directions and I'll do my best.
May God smile upon you!!

BassMan...If your family is looking to worship somewhere while you're there check out Present Truth Ministries.  My friend Robert Dotson is the bassist there and he's a bad boy.  I don't have an e-mail for him or anything but they're definitely worth checking out.  The band is off the chain.  They have it all; drums, bass, like three folks on keys, like an 8 or nine piece brass section.  I've never seen church band done like these folks.

Peace,
T.J.

I was born and raise in Kinston, NC. I'll checkout Present Truth Ministries this time, but I'm always going to Kinston and I'll checkout each Church. I need to hear other bass players.

We are on the corner of Pender and Academy Street.  When you come, you may see my on keys, cuz our keyboard player just graduated from school and is now playing somewhere else.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!  Not keys :-[  Trader....That's an abomination.  Bassist going to keys.   lol

Just kidding!

I will always be a bassist but I see myself eventually getting to keys because I understand chord structure and bass lines so it's easy to hear chords.  It's funny cause I started as a drummer.  I'm working my wife from rythm to the melodic.

Have fun...

Yes there are alot of great musicians.  When I was living in Kinston, years ago.  There were so many bands.  Each block had someone.
In my days there was:

Paul Isler ( He traveled around with Herbert Hancock, He help me win a Bass contest with Stanley Clarke's School Daze 1979 or 80)
Micheal Bell ( That brother is very good)
Milton Barrow
Donald Wiggins
Bruce Bulter
PC

Those are the Bass Players I remember off hand.
