I have read every (meaningful) post in this thread on and off the computer today.
Some of you know what you are talking about. SOME OF YOU ARE JUST FLAT OUT AIMING TO BASH HIP HOP!!!
I just want to lay down a couple points and be done with it!
By the way I'm not into HIP - HOP at all so my comments are not biased in any wayl!!!

God instructed us, in his word, to praise him. There are some of us who have not exactly been blessed with the gift to SING. But they have been given other abilities and they choose to lift him up like that instead of giving God a half hearted praise with something they know nothing about.

I then came to an understanding of what I just said. SO WE NEED TO STOP TRYING TO FORCE OTHERS TO WORSHIP GOD THE SAME WAY WE DO!!!

If a form of anything is meant to lift up GOD and preach his message there can't be anything wrong with it!!!

Take pornography for example (sorry but it's a good example). There's really nothing wrong with sex!!! But where you go wrong is when you do it out of wedlock and put it on tape. SO YOU SEE THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH IT IS THAT IT'S PERVERTED!
At the same time there's really nothing wrong with HIP-HOP.......Until you start using it to glorify yourself!......Or glorify sin!......Or glorify things that are not of GOD!

I don't know everything...
I'm still learning and haven't even scratched the surface of all I need to know.
I'm still open to whatever God can show me through this or any subject.
That includes any controversial subject I have participated in on this board.
I do understand that we are dealing with REALITY here.
By that I mean we are all real people, communicating with real words about real concerns in our individual hearts and lives.
I want to always respect the feelings of others, even if they are thousands of miles away in front of a computer screen.
I don't want to "say" anything to anyone which will hurt anyone, just because I can, just because they can't reach out and conk me on the head for being a jerk. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or be a stumblingblock. If I have been unsensitive, I apologize. I may do it again. God help me not to and I will try but, the possibility is still there.
The Bible says
16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Now I don't know all those definitions of those words. I do know believe that each and every word of the above verse was put there by God for a reason.
Rap singing may just be in the category of "spiritual songs"...I don't know.
But I do know that God also said:
Colossians
13Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another,
if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. So lets be patient....please forgive
and
17And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. That's all I know to say about it brother Kell.
