what has kirk produced he didnt do his own? tye has been working way before LIFE cam out

heres a chord for you

key of E

E/E,B,F#/Ab,C#,F#

First, nice chord. Second, and let me be clear, I DID NOT like Kirk's 'Hero" album. At the same time, I'm NOT fond of Tye's 'Victory' album either. HOWEVER , Tye does have more songs that I like on his album ('I want it all back', 'Victory' and I like one of the slow songs on it, but I can't remember the title)

Even with that said, I definitely liked Tye's first album a WHOLE, WHOLE, WHOLE lot more.

As far as Kirk's music goes, it has become a staple in churches across America and possibly the world. And, there's nothing you or I can do or say about that. I can tell you that at my church we have sung more Kirk stuff than Tye stuff. And, my MOM is friendly with BOTH of them and my pastor is as OUT DA BOX as they come.

Does that mean anything, I don't know. I'm just stating facts.  ;)

OK let's not forget that Kirk was on the gospel scene BEFORE his first CD came out. He worked with Georgia Mass (Joy), DFW Mass (Another Chance), Trinity Temple (Holy One), all before he finally went and did his own project. So he's paid his dues. When I got Kirk's first CD, I already knew who he was because of his work with those other artists. So most of the credit he gets is NOT undeserved, it's just that there are other artists who DON'T get the credit they deserve. No need to be a "Kirk hater". ;)

MAKING A HARD LEFT TURN........

BRUH KELL - since we are communicating let's get 1 thing real clear. all God wants is our worship and obedience which is in fact worship so..... 2ndly - God does not care if you can sing or not sing, play an instrument or not play one, that has nothing to do with real worship. That is a deadly spin we have put on worship. we added the harmony and the chord changes and all that superficial stuff. God never required that, we made that a part of worship. So this point of " everybody can't sing" is a joke. It is  set-up to keep us tripped up on some false sense of what is worship.

I just need to clear that up.....

back to my popcorn ;)
Thank you for correcting me...............
I may have used the wrong wording. Of course I know that no one needs music to worship (although they do wait for it). But what about praise though...........I KNOW FOR SURE THAT EVERYONE CAN'T PRAISE HIM THE SAME WAY!
I Love You!!!

No one praises or worships God in the same way. Now, as for the 'need' of music, there shouldn't be one, but I think music helps to take us into that next level. But again, that's just me and I'm still doing research; so save the debate for someone else.  ;)

Kadman,
Let me say I'm not ashamed of being a white man. God had a reason for that. I'm ashamed of not acting like a Christian sometimes, being out of the will of God. Praise God for whatever color you are. Black is beautiful, white is beautiful! Praise God!
He wants us to all love one another and I do know that for a fact.

 Bruh Kell,
There is a place in the new Testament where Jesus was riding on a donkey into the city of Jerusalem. The people were praising Him, spreading palm leaves before Him. Jesus' disciples told Him "make these folks hush"(paraphrasing) and Jesus told them that if those people, who were worshipping Him, were to hold their peace, the ROCKS would cry out. That tells me that somethin' was about to BUST. Sometimes when I get to thinking about what God has done for me...I feel like I could bust!

There are many people who are deaf and people who cannot speak, but they can praise the Lord anyhow, in their hearts. God is listening to our heart anyway. All that we see, feel, hear, smell and taste in this life is expendable. All this will pass away one day. It is not the real, "REAL" . Know what I mean?

Brother, I dont understand all these things, right or wrong, this and that. Music affects us all but in different ways. Alot of it is influenced by the culture you are brought up in. My youngest son just "eats up" bluegrass. We play it together as a family.  But if he had been raised around rap, I'm sure he would be just as fervent about that. That doesn't make either one right or wrong.
If you can rap the word of God, and you can feel His presence while you're doing it, and you know and feel in your Heart, the Joy of God and what He's done and is doing for you, then that's what you need to do. God just wants us to praise Him with our heart. He's worthy.

Sometimes, when the words of the song and the music sounds sweet to me, I "get happy". It ain't the "bluegrass' that does that.
But that only happens in those brief momments when the words speak to me and then I'm thinking about God and His wonderful goodness to me and get just a glimpse of Him in Faith and take my eyes off "self". But I'm affected the same listening  to "Praise and Worship" , "Black Gospel", and some of the "southern gospel" music. If God was leading me to...I could do without the bluegrass. I know that that ain't the ultimate, ...THE music. The Bible says "eye hath not seen, neither ear heard, neither hath entered into the heart of man the things that God hath prepared for them that love Him...". I doubt there will be "bluegrass" in Heaven. I'll bet it will be a million times more wonderful than that...and those of us who will be there will all like it!

Here's one song on one of my CD's
Black sister singing...Man I just love those "runs" :)

You are worthy to receive all the honor
You are worthy to receive all the glory (nice run right here)  ;D
You are worthy to recieve all the power
You have purchased us
You have purchased us
You have purchased us
With your blood

Man I feel like I could bust sometimes listening to her siong that!

Here's another...
Black man singing here:

Jesus Your Name is POWER!
Jesus Your Name is MIGHT!
Jesus Your Name will break every Strong-hold!
Jesus Your Name is LIFE!
Jesus Your Name is healing!
Jesus Your Name gives Sight!
Jesus Your Name will FREE EVERY CAPTIVE!
Jesus Your Name is Life!
Jesus Your Name is Holy!
Jesus Your Name brings Light!
Jesus Your Name above every other!
Jesus Your Name is Life!

I can hear the organ/keyboard playng in the backgound
Then I can hear the backup singers in there.....  Brother, that gets some tears flowing and I'm praising God that sounds so SWEET!

Now I can get into many styles of music but I don't care for opera, jazz, classical, or country western, or the middle eastern stuff, as far as liking that type of music goes. I do like a few songs in each category...well...except opera  :o
But to each his own. :)
I'm not grown up brother...yet
God Bless all

PS kadman...sorry for another long post
Are the paragraphs better? :)

......Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. Psalm 33:2-3

Looking good Wayne... looking good.

I'm not ashamed of being white nor am I ashamed of you, it was meant to be humorous not literal.

I guess what I was ashamed of is when I was first born again, I swung my bible at folk foolishly and pushed them away.  I was so full of fire and truth but did not have the experience to do what God says for us to do which is to be Wise as serpents and peaceful as doves.  The word is a sword that can cut to the soul and we must treat that weapon with the respect it deserves and not just go swinging it in every discussion we get into.

That I learned through the years.  I would not trade my conversion for anything, but I do wish I had not been so foolishly bold as a babe in Christ.
Thank God we grow as Christians, well most do.  To grow means change, God doesn't change so we must be the ones to do so.  If we do not grow, we die.  God forbid I allow my brother or sister to die so we must help each other in our growth.

Lets stop sweating the small stuff....  Gospel hip hop is not of the devil no more than gospel bluegrass is.  It is mearly another style of worship for a specific taste or group.  CCM is elevator music to me most of the time but hearing it live under an annointing stirrs my spirit.  Let the youth have their style of worship without picking it apart to see if it is of God or not.  Not all christian or Gospel music is scripturally sound, it is up to us to be right in ourselves so that we do not get left behind.

Alot of ministries out there dont believe in Christian Rap. Do you? and if you do, does your church? Let me know! ;)

hmmm.... Christian Rap? I, as one believe in this if its done in a nice way as it is called christian rap.
Why not? It is one way of evangelizing And as to go with the saying if you ain't beat them join them,
well offcourse what i mean here is to join them in their way.I just remember what Steve Kuban said
(during one of his concert in the Philippines i saw) that in Cuba or Columbia(forgive me for this i don't remember but its one of this place) streets are full of people enjoying the disco dancing, singing and drinking so seeing this he decided to do his songs of praise in the way the people of that certain place do, and i do believe a lot of people are encouraged of it. One of his songs i like is the SEVEN WAYS TO PRAISE THE LORD.
