Marcus Baylor albums
« on: August 05, 2006, 07:18:07 PM »
I just picked up the Yellowjackets' Twenty Five album (also contains a DVD) and I am really feelin what Marcus is doing on this album.  Can anyone suggest some other albums other than Yellowjackets Time Squared that Marcus has played on, or any other footage anyone may have, it would be greatly appreciated.

I know that Marcus has only been with the group since 2002.  He also graduated from Berklee around that time.  For that reason I don't believe that there is much else with him on it.  I know that there is probably another YJ album that he is on, but i believe that is the extent of it.

Marcus has played on some other Yellowjacket projects. They just released one last year called "Altered State". He's also on an album called "Mint Jam". It was the first Yellowjacket album he played in. You can only get it from their website at http://www.yellowjackets.com

Here's a clip of Marcus playing with the Yellowjackets. It's from their "Mint Jam" cd.

I think the name of that bass player is Jimmy Haslip. Dude is completely awesome and completely self-taught.

RE: Jimmy Haslip.........if you noticed, his bass is strung high string up top to low string at the bottom! Upside down if you will!

Keith Horne is another bassist who plays that way but check this out, he's actually a right handed person! Go figure!
