But do you have to add expansion boards to get that beautiful sounds that you desired in Roland and Korg?
With the kurzweil (my old pc 88), you don't need to add anything and the piano sound is already really nice.

I dont' know about the korg but the Roland comes with sounds that already sound real. Buying the SRX Card just adds to the fun and ability of having more rich sound to add to your ideas.  I bought the Ultimate Keys and I'mma bout to get the StudioSRX card.  The Ulitmate keys gives you about 450 new patches and all of them are screaming hot!!!!!!! The expansion just adds more to the real sounds that are already on the board.

I have the srx-02 "Concert piano" installed inside my xv-2020 sound module. The card sounds really nice when playing alone but with a full band not really. :-\

Do any of you think the nord keyboards will make it big? I have seen some already on tv.

A Roland piano will cut through glass. ;D I will stand out in any arena whether in the studio or in a 30,000 seat concert hall. Roland pianos stand out in the mix.

Yamaha is better with the electric pianos and suck on brass sounds. Strings are alright.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.

Nord make it big? maybe.
The red color kills it for me.

The Electro has the best sounding pianos by far!

The thing about the Electro is that it doesn't have those extra patches we're used to. The Nord Stage fixes that, but they need to come out with a 61/73 key version. Right now, it's only 88...which costs about 3k.
