Gospel Shouting Music
« on: September 06, 2006, 01:51:54 PM »

Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me with finger positions on playing shouting chords. The church I play for is small and needs a bass player. I recently purchased me one to help out the ministry. I was hopping that someone could give me some pointers on how to play and build up my speed and accuracy.

Shout music are just moving up one fret at a time.

Key of A

 G -----------------------------------------------------------
 D -----------------------------------------------------------
 A -----------------------------------------------------------
 E -5----------2-3-4-5------------2-3-4-5--------------
 B ---2-3-4-5----------2-3-4-5--------------2-3-4-5--

Find ways to add flavor  The important things is you return to A at the right time.

To kinda piggy back on that when you get that basic run down experiment with it, try any combinations of those 8 notes as long as you do not repeat any one note, I betcha it will still sound tight, and watch how many people will be looking like man what's that bass player doing, that's tight, let me know if that helped or if you like how it sounded! Peace!
