It would have to be an incredible bargain (<$300) for me to bite. And even then, if the price were too low, I'd assume that it is because the build quality was as bad as the aesthetics. There are too many good choices in the $300 - 500 range to take a chance on something you don't know a lot about and is u&1y to boot. Yamaha, Ibanez, Fender and Schecter make very good basses in this price range.
Okay, now y'all look away while I snatch Jeremyr up by the collar.....
man that thing is almost as ugly or dare i say MORE ugly then the MM bongo...lol
[deep voice on][uncontrollable eye twitch on] I heard you called mah bass ugly, boy. Whatchu doin' callin' mah bass ugly? Do I have to teach you about comin' up in here talkin' that jibber-jabber?
[/deep voice][/uncontrollable eye twitch]I own a Bongo 5 string. Okay, yeah, it's aesthetically challenged......They actually DO look much better in person (sounds like someone describing a blind date, huh?). I really had no intention of buying it, but let me tell you, if you've never played one before, you'd be SHOCKED at how good they sound (No, she's not all that pretty, but she's got a good heart. And she can cook). I am trying to sell it, but not because I don't like it. It's because I have several other custom basses that do what the Bongo does better. But then they oughta, 'cause they cost a lot more than the Bongo.
Peace,
James
